Back in Switzerland. Went for a run and did not feel very good. I have worked yesterday in Interlaken, met some friends and talked to Sandra on her way to WOC in Scotland, then had to rush to go grocery Shopping before the stores closed for the Weekend as it's the Swiss Independence day today (924 years!). Was so exhausted last night, and took 2 cat naps but then when I wanted to sleep after 11 pm, I could not shut off my brain at all. I was still awake till after 3 am when I finally took a Melatonin pill. Then slept till after 10 am, and I'm still groggy.

Running felt good, though slow. So, nothing new. And very humid air after the dryness in Colorado.

Going f a last run from peets house before heading to DIA. Went to Fox Run Park. Again, lots of pix stops as Marilyn told me about prayer and burial trees that Ute Indians had shaped a very long time ago. Have seen them for ages, but finally know that they were shaped by humans. Nice, warm temps on 2260 m!

We rented bikes and went up to Rampart Reservoir, a place which was new to Urs. The trail around is as I remembered it when I was flying over it some 25 years ago as a "lean, mean running machine" ;-).
It was at times wonderful, rolling on that trail, then also lots of ups and downs and carrying the bikes through narrow, steep gaps in the huge boulders. We got tired towards the end, as it was a tough Overall trail, just the way I remembered it ;-), but lots of fun on a beautiful, sunny day with gorgeous views onto Pikes Peak.

I knew running in the Garden of the Gods is always beautiful but also quite hard. Just amazed when thinking back 20 years, how I used to fly over those trails and constant ups and downs of the rough trails.
Started out with Urs walking and took off jogging after about a mile and did an extra loop. The temp was in the 90s and very dry, so after about 50 min, I started to hurt. Also stopped for pictures and towards the end up to the Siamese Twins, I had to walk to make it back to the Trading Post and the car that had water and a slice of pizza. I was so drained.
