Unspecified (fartlek) 1:40:00 [4] ** 6.0 mi (16:40 / mi)

Football in P.E. Not much running playing left back, but enough to call it fartlek training.

After school run with Dad and Fly over the Brocton hills.

7 PM

Running 1:08:23 [3] * 6.92 mi (9:53 / mi) +201m 9:04 / mi
shoes: Adizero adios 3

Comfortable Tuesday run with Hol. Running on the Brocton roads and trails felt amazing seeing I had been revising biology for the whole evening. Running on the chase is always a good way to relive the stresses of school and GCSEs.

Fitness wise: I felt really fit, but upper body technique seems to be very messy lately.

Monday Feb 11, 2019 #

Running 45:00 [2] *** 5.8 mi (7:46 / mi) +165m 7:08 / mi
shoes: Mudclaw 300

Felt very slow, so just ran slow. No point going quick if I don't feel quick.

Sunday Feb 10, 2019 #

3 PM

Running 45:00 [2] ** 5.0 mi (9:00 / mi) +170m 8:08 / mi
shoes: X-tallon 225

Steady run with fly, somewhat trying to merge the kenyan running technique with the fell running technique. I am just taking it easy now until Colorado. But then again can I say I run hard any day!

Injury wise, I rolled my ankle running off the Walton fields so that was a good excuse to have somewhat of a warm up and I had an arguably large plate of food 20 minutes before going out so I felt slightly more heavy than normal.

Saturday Feb 9, 2019 #

9 AM

Running 48:21 [3] *** 6.5 mi (7:26 / mi) +224m 6:43 / mi
shoes: X-tallon 190

Morning run with Fly Dogg over the chase valleys. Felt quite healthy and quite fit. Fly seemed to be running quick also. To be honest it was a really good run and arguably, some good fell practice.
10 AM

Running 10:45 [3] 1.74 mi (6:11 / mi)
shoes: Adizero adios 3

Run to paper shop to pick up my wages.

climbing 2:00:00 [4] *****

Went to birmingam with Megan because I got off school earlier than usual because of a brace appointment. I climbed quite well despite having a swollen finger (maybe broken) and I got up some v4-5 with relative ease. Following climbing we went on a journey to find food and eventually went to pie minister. It was a very nice pie!

I didn't get home till late because of us missing the train so I had no time to go running when I got home.

Thursday Feb 7, 2019 #

4 PM

Running 45:00 [2] ** 5.0 mi (9:00 / mi) +200m 8:00 / mi
(sick) shoes: X-tallon 225

Shouldn't have had a jalapeƱo and mayonnaise toastie before I went running. More of a walk than run. Also, mouth still hurts from yesterday.

Wednesday Feb 6, 2019 #

Unspecified (PE) 30:00 [3] **

Playing rugby without gum shield was a bad idea. Went in to tackle Toby, but ended up with a ripped lip and 6 hours in AandE getting it stitched up. No running today I think.

Tuesday Feb 5, 2019 #

7 PM

Running 51:44 [4] ** 6.05 mi (8:33 / mi) +267m 7:31 / mi
shoes: X-tallon 190

Ran with Hol to the the foot of Broc hill down Jacobs ladder, then she went home because of an illness. After she left and I had a hard sprint up Broc hill I decided to run up and down some more hills, which I did. The chase had a tremendosly scary silence lurking today. The wind was as still as a statue and the rain was so fine yet still so heavy. It was undoubtably a spooky night to be running, but I'm not entirely sure just why.

Monday Feb 4, 2019 #

Note
(rest day)

Its a cold day and I'm tired. Seems a good enough excuse to have a rest day.
8 PM

turbo trainer 25:30 [3] 13.3 km (31.3 kph)

max watt:280
avg watt:171

So I was having a rest day, but I got slightly bored not doing anything, so I went on the bike for a short while. I felt arguably fit despite the kong yesturday still holding most of my energy in the welsh mountains.

Additionally, I have now come to somewhat of understanding that I need to priorities my revision and GCSEs over my running. I'm sure the 12 week holiday in summer with give me a perfectly sutible amount of time to train more.

mountain marathon race 3:58:15 [5] ***** 13.86 mi (17:11 / mi) +1170m 13:37 / mi
spiked:10/19c shoes: VJ XTRM

KONG mini mountain marathon round 1-Capel Curig: I am now truley and utterly exhausted. After the 0.5 mile walk to regisatration and then a further 1 mile walk from there to the start I felt relativley confident both in a navigation perspective and additionally a fitness perspective. Starting at 9:58am the first controls flew by with ease, arguably because both contols were on a large straight path and required little to no navigational experience. As Dad and I gained altitude it become clear the snow was going to become more and more challenging throughout the course. Control number 20 going to 23 was where the snow became truly difficult. Trampling through, what In summer would be a bog, but now knee deep snow seemed to drain my energy more than I have ever experienced. This control that should've taken 15minutes at most took over 30 minutes purley because of the deep snow leading to it. Number 14 was a navigational mess on my behalf. This control that should of been much simpler became a mess mostly because of my immense lack of energy and concentration as a result of traipsing through the snow on controls prior. Dad and I lost so much time here its almost a tragedy. After number 14 we had somewhat give up and just wanted to head back, which we ultimately did. Heading back the same way we had come at the start of the race we managed to collect 2 more controls and got back to the finish with 2 minutes to spare. After taking a solid 40 minutes to get changed and warm up we had a deeply indulgent and tasteful soup and a cake at download. I think we came about 61st out of 240+ but I'm not certain. It was great day out in the welsh mountains to be honest.

2 PM

Running 30:32 [3] ** 3.61 mi (8:27 / mi) +127m 7:37 / mi
shoes: X-tallon 225

Run down to Satnall hills with fly. Went to the left of Broc hill down a little path opposite the cliffs. It was a good route to get to the German cutting quicker without having to go to the top of Broc hill.
3 PM

Running 33:55 [2] ** 3.35 mi (10:07 / mi) +119m 9:07 / mi
shoes: X-tallon 225

Run/walk home from Satnall Hills.

Orienteering 30:05 [3] *** 2.05 mi (14:41 / mi) +157m 11:51 / mi
12c shoes: X-tallon 225

partially pathless contour training on Satnall hills with fly. Navigation felt spot on ahead of the kong round 1 tomorrow.
Also saw mountain rescue training today.

Fitness/navigation: both feel fine.
