Day 2 of West Point NRE. First glance at map revealed a solid mass of green and black. Wow! The inland ice did a nice job on this one!
This was not the map and course to be totally out of shape on :) I had to walk most of the course, and towards the end my legs were so tired I could barely walk up the hills. Lightheaded at the finished which isn't good.
Fair share of mistakes navigation-wise. #2 should have counted my steps but didn't and started looking too soon, and got confused by the cliffs. 3 minutes.
#6 was an excellent route choice by the course setter, most people went left, some straight, and I was one of the few that went right. Was an easy run until I got close to the control. By this time I was already very tired and brain not working well. Mistook some cliffs and angled left too early, took me a while to relocate. Probably 5 minutes. I think going right might have been the right choice, if I hadn't screwed it up.
#7 small miss, stayed on path 50 meters to long and had to angle back a bit. 30 secs.
#9 a little too the right and low, 30 secs.
#10 and #11 were utterly ridiculous. Very steep and downright dangerous cliffs. Bad course setting.
10 minutes in total. Enjoyable if I hadn't been so darned tired.
