Long run along the coast from Dunoon. Mix of flat road and hilly bog. Got caught out in the road shoes a couple of times. Felt alright, had a tailwind most of the way which was nice.

Big brute of a hill session up the tourist path from Arrochar. Bit hungover and not massively motivated. First 2km felt rotten and almost pulled the plug, but managed to get myself into it. Downhill reps weren’t as quick as I would have liked as path was quite rocky and uneven. Shorter reps at the end just to finish myself off. Lots of climbing, can’t say I felt good but kept everything consistent throughout.

Bit of work during my lunch break. Out along the cycle track from Alloa to Tilli. Quite lumpy and a big downhill followed by a horrible run back uphill. Didn’t feel great but just got the head down and didn’t look at splits. First time doing a session in mileage shoes for a while - feel like I have been neglecting several muscle groups wearing super shoes all these years. Might make a lifestyle change and revert back to mileage shoes for general tempo/threshold work.

Originally planned to do some meadows and strides however decided last minute to hop into the carnethy reps for a bit of chat. Was very late so had to drive half way and raz the warm up just to make the group. 3 sets of 3x1 + 3. Good graft, didn’t eat much this afternoon so felt a bit bonked but some nice work on the hills. Turned into quite a big day.

Jk Relay - team 3rd

1st leg with the boys. Hit the front from the start kite absolutely nailing #1 with the rest of the field in my wake. Bet everyone was getting nervous, but no need to worry, I swiftly spooned #2 and nestled into 3rd place behind Shmintey and Phil. Bit of a stale mate through to #7 then split across the moor to #8. Managed to twang my ankle leading to a lapse in concentration and a wonky line. This allowed Dave to get a small gap on us. Almost caught Dave by #10 but then took a really shit exit which plonked me right back in the Phil train. Back across the moor to #12 had Dave just in our site, with Ali Thornton joining us. Through spec in a 4-man group. Unfortunately we all spooned #14 by around 30sec which allowed EUOC to get a more seizable lead. Cba with any kind of sprint to just waddled in behind Phil and Ali. Content to keep the team in the mixer.

Proper Brexit relay that. Some very mediocre technical and physical performances on display.
