Quality pfh SLR in the snow with Dave, Bob and Swaz. Followed by a ferocious fry up back at my gaff. Great end to the week.

Feel like body is back in one piece after around a month of being a bit under the weather. Might cash in and take an easy week of just running and no sessions before another block.

East District Champs - 6th

Satisfied with that, nothing spectacular but a good stabiliser after last weekends shit show. Start felt chill. Butchart, Jamie and Kris broke away quite early. Nobody really wanted to take it in the chase pack, so I hit the front and set a steady tempo. Managed to whittle the group down to just myself, Callum Phillip and Sean Chalmers.

Started feeling a bit sluggish mid way through the second lap. Both lads moving past on the descents - just felt like I couldn’t turn over my legs. Kept catching on the hills to keep myself in it.

Coming into the last km I was just hanging onto the back of Callum and Sean. They started moving off the top of the hill and I didn’t really fight to stay on as I knew the gap to 7th was quite big. Let the two of them fight it out and trundled into the finish for 6th.

Not a bad run by any stretch and quite cool to be so close to butchy and Kris (neither really focusing on cross tbf). Just need to be a little bit more aggressive at the end of these races.

Oxgangs FWTN + short jog either side. Caught wind of this earlier in the day and couldn’t turn it down. Fantastic turnout, lovely bit of head to head in some icy conditions. Was taking things very steady and cautious for the first half. Bit of a burn up the last few controls and just got pipped by wozzle on the last control. Great fun, don’t think I’ve burnt too many matches before Saturday which is good.

I’ll be the first to admit that that was not even remotely close to a tempo. Just letting the hair down a bit and had a good group of Matt, Callum and Noah to get after it. Classic post-shit race knob the following session job.
