off road 45:49 [3] 4.5 mi (10:11 / mi)

Purdown, similar to normal with 3 hills - just steady running

1 AM

flat efforts 59:00 [4] 4.5 mi (13:07 / mi)

Oldbury Court 10*2 mins with 90 secs (ish) gap. Not quite full bore but certainly an orienteering race pace. Also ran a hill. Hamstring still there but again no adverse effects
2 AM

off road 15:00 [2] 1.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

Purdown. Ran in wood to experiment with new Headlight

Thursday Jun 27, 2013 #

off road 32:00 [2] 3.0 mi (10:40 / mi)

Gentle run on Purdown - did a fast 2 mins no adverse effects. Frankly hamstring no better of worse, The joys of getting old every thing either takes for ever to fix or you learn to live with it. Its a b****r .

Note

Decided not to run for a few days to see if hamstring niggle will go.
Had the same think 3/4 years ago. Stayed for whole season but did not keep me from the start line - just no road races or fast training.

orienteering 1:19:34 [5] 7.2 km (11:03 / km)

Broughton Burrows. Slow in the terrain very stiff kneed and they were sore at the end. Overshot 1 and misread the map at 2 - so binned a couple of mins at the start. Missed 11 somehow got onto wrong hill but corrected without too much time loss. Lost the line a bit to 14. Perhaps too tentative and straight not enough traffic lights.
I just love sand dune orienteering and todays race certainly did not disappoint.
Only felt hamstring in warm up and its not bad
