5 mile tempo out and back along the greenway (gentle uphill for first half and down for second)
Been a little while since any proper training so just easing back in, felt a lot harder than it should have but a good start. Very wet and muddy for mile 3 so considerably tougher going.
Splits: 6:30, 6:33, 6:35, 6:20, 6:02

Was going to run yesterday but decided to give it an extra day, feeling really good later in the day yesterday but not so good first thing in the morning so waited a while before running and tried to get it moving, once I started running it felt great, no soreness at all.

Physio appointment this morning, looks like posterior tib tendon as suspected, must have damaged it during the sprain which was more like multiple movements than just your classic inversion sprain. Need to be careful returning to running as tendons can be persistent, and work on all the same ankle stuff I was doing before anyway.

Ankle function is good but after last the last run I was getting more pain on the inside of shin above ankle down to the arch, initially I think it was masked by the rest of the ankle pain but noticeable after the last run, took a day off running yesterday and tried again today, waiting for it to loosen off and ease as I ran but it didn't so cut it short and going to take a few more days off. Not an ankle sprain, not muscular, not bony, feels like tendons to me.

Took a little while to loosen off but then ankle feeling alright, obviously not perfect but able to run properly on uneven footpaths and not feeling too unsteady. Wanted to run further but also didn't want to push my luck. No more repeat incidents and I'll be all good.

Initially thought this would just need a day or two of rest and ice and then I'd be good to go. Movement and weight-bearing are both fairly decent, but there's just something not right on the inside of the ankle. At least another couple of days away from being able to run.
