Running race (North Downs Relay) 1:17:18 [5] 15.56 km (4:58 / km) +350m 4:28 / km
weight:68kg shoes: Pure Cadence 3

Good run overall. My first time on the North Downs Way, so was a little worried about the navigation. Set off together with GO from the Rose&Crown, but lost their runner going up the first slope (around 25m climb over 700m). Was alone for the rest of the run

Running at a solid pace (4:00-4:30) through Otford, but then slowed significantly as I hit the hill on the way out of town. Quite a bit of running/ walking on-and-off to rise from 60 to 200m here. Was a little worried about the calves locking, so followed that with a few easier ks. Path here was slightly muddied as well, with lots of up and down steps along the slope, which made it difficult to run consistently at pace.

Once I dropped of the ridge again the going got faster. Was generally able to push sub 4:30s along the pilgrims way and after the motorway, most of the way to the final climb. Despite being in the forest (a nice respite from the heat) I didn't quite have the legs to run it through, a bit stop/start towards the top. Could do with some more hill training.

Very happy overall though. With all the climb, heat, path conditions and numerous kissing gates, I'm really happy to have crept below 5mins/k, as well as bring home a 31mins advantage for the team.

Splits: 4:29, 4:07, 4:25, 7:15 (climb), 5:37, 5:30, 5:26, 4:27, 4:52, 4:20, 4:23, 4:30, 4:45, 4:07, 6:00 (climb), 2:56 (@5:14)

ITW - Quite relaxed. Just ate a little too much before running (banana milkshakes are tempting when you have a blender)

Cycling (Boris Bike) 25:00 [1]

ITW - very busy in the City. Not convinced I've found the best route in yet
6 PM

Running (Medium) 23:15 [3] 5.27 km (4:25 / km) +10m 4:22 / km
shoes: Pure Cadence 3

HFW (short) - nice and bouncy. Amazing what a night's rest and a good day at work can do for you. Met Anca just before home, so ruined my PB by stopping

Running (Medium) 15:41 [3] 3.67 km (4:16 / km)
shoes: Pure Cadence 3

Popped out again after getting home. Down the Thames path across Limekiln bridge and then back via Ropemaker gardens to Sainsbury's. Sub 4:30 seems quite easy now when I'm in the mood

Tried to get up early and run, but after running two full days of workshops I just felt knackered. Moving as fast as a Brazilian defender

(rest day)

Failed to go for a run this morning as I fell asleep after my alarm clock has woken me (may be a sign). Will go tonight if I get time, but may be too late... It was.
