SOL 1 Corranbuie

Another early start but I think that might have helped today as some of the banks were already pretty slippy. Must have been a quagmire later. Had fun on this. Was going ok until was it 8 that didn’t work? Went for a real swim in the bog beforehand and after that my hip got too cold an my left knee too and everything sort of ceased up and got sore. Dropped time at 13 and was hesitant to15. A few more wobbles but otherwise ok.

Laurence smashed the last Silva arc jet in the house. Ridiculous! 3 compasses broken in 6 months. Do not whatever you do buy a silva compass! They are just really really poor quality now. He has the bits so we’ll be sending it back, but I don’t see any replacement lasting more than a few months! Silva used to be good, now just expensive tat.

Toes bloody sore on the way home again. Think I might chop them off.

Master plan adventure middle

Torinturk. First start on the long, which meant when I made 3 hefty mistakes it suddenly felt lonely, but getting the forest to yourself is a privilege. The challenge of relocating was fun though, and oh what a great area.

Sore toes now. Really sore. Not sure I can face the sprint - getting my toes in my o shoes, or getting them wet and cold.

Work up very early due to having a bit of a standoff with Bertie at 4am. Got up eventually at 6 and did a hiit thing in the attic.

Gymnippers around the seat run. Thoroughly manky weather. Really grim indeed. I got back so so wet.

I’m still trapped in the limbo that is being parent to an ill toddler so it was good to get out. Spoke to the GP yesterday as it is prolly the scarlet fever going around the nursery, and I said I really couldn’t be bothered to try to get antibiotics down him, and she really couldn’t be bothered to prescribe so we agreed to let it roll along. I could really do with some sleep though!

Good to get out and blow some fresh air in my face. This was a bit tiring. I’m really too old and fat for this, but I might as well keep trying to ignore reality and pretend I’m still an athlete. Fake it til you make it and all that.
