With Paul, up the road and then on the GR9 past the Bastille to Mont Jalla and Mont Rachais which was somewhat surprisingly runnable all the way, and then down a slightly narrower and more scrambly route. Looking forward to this being a regular route!

Running 1:50:30 [3] 15.61 km (7:05 / km) +285m 6:29 / km

A chilled jog along the ridge from Sizergh with mum, followed by an excellent scone.

Running 33:21 [3] 5.21 km (6:24 / km) +5m 6:22 / km

Intervals at Crook O’Line
Mostly between 2 and 4 minutes, with 1 min to end.
Legs feeling okay after the weekend, and no weird knee niggles, although I wasn’t trying super hard.

Sunday Jun 16 #

Running 1:52:20 [3] 15.4 km (7:18 / km) +284m 6:41 / km
shoes: Inov8 XTalon Blue Oct23

Around the Glen Loin loop with the gang.
Intended to also run up Ben Vane mid loop with Pippa and Aoife, but left knee was feeling grumbly on the downhills so just walked up /down Max and Esther instead (not recorded). Probably just a bit niggly from doing long things on recent weekends while not doing much other training.

Not-quite-solstice skyline with Pippa, Tana, Lucy and James

Pentland skyline starting at midnight and finishing with sunrise on the final ridge. A slightly silly but super fun way to do a skyline before moving out of Edinburgh. Nice and chilled pace, and probably could have got away without torches although they were useful on the descents in the first half.

In case it’s useful for future reference
Had dinner post nap, and ate mostly jelly beans and hula hoops during, stomach felt a bit dodgy in the last bit but 95% sure that was due to period and not what I’d eaten. A bit nervous beforehand about the lack of sleep, so took a nap from 7:30-9 in the evening. Combined with sleeping 6-11 afterwards, a passable 6.5 hours for the night, seemed to work okay.
5 PM

Note

Plus walking up Beinn an Lochain with Pippa, Esther and Max in the evening before heading to the bothy. Feeling surprisingly okay despite an unconventional nights sleep.
~ 5km, 700m climb
