With all the free publicity lately, you could make a bundle selling that goo!

Say, just because the rogaines are 6hr long doesn't mean you're actually running all or even most of that time! I usually run the flats and downhills, and walk uphill and when i'm pooped. I estimate running perhaps half the time. Don't push for 6hrs at a time running during your training unless you want to!

what da hell i wish you'd have told me that before i started !!! you know im just kidding of course. my question is what would balter do. that sounds like a really good strategy to keep a more even pace throughout the event.

Under no circumstances should you ask what Balter would do! None of us can handle full speed uphill 6hr. That way lies injury and madness. Ask what Bob would do!
