This AttackPoint group is meant to complement the GHO web site and GHO Canada GHO blog. Check here for training updates and travel to races and out of town training from other GHO Canada GHO Attackpoint users.

There are a lot of GHO members on Attackpoint so lets encourage them all to join this group.

I'm still waiting for your rogaine write-up! We've heard nothing since we met you at #64. It looks like your sick feeling got worse...?

The race ended for us when I pulled the plug due to SEVERE chaffing. Not wanting to get graphic, it wasn't much of an option for me. It took us nearly 3hrs to walk out the ~5km from 35 to the HH; most of which I did with my pants around my knees and a hangin' out in the wind.

The NARC title seems to be one that eludes BDB and me (three years no dice yet). Really hard as I'd worked so hard to be there and the arm was holding up. We were on track to clean the course, but it was going to be REALLY tight! If it was too close we'd planned to bail at 62 and go straight down through town, skipping 31 and 11. Luckily next year's 2008 NARC occurs prior to the World Champs so that BDB and I have a chance to go to Estonia as the NA Rogaine Champs.

Bash - Congrats on year 3 repeat for you! You'll have to start racing with Hammer so that his wheelchair helps slow you down ;)

Hammer - So sorry to hear about the further crappy post surgery. Best of luck on the road to recoery... I know your determination will bring you back.

Back to Estonia! Your name came up in rookie initiation at this year's WOC. I think the rookies this year got off easy.

Thanks for the update, Bender. I'd never experienced chafing before that event, and I had NO idea how painful it could be. I'd just assumed that boys were wusses. ;-) In my case, it was all across the front of my upper quads from the thread on my pants pockets and side seams. Also a bit on my lower back where my pack rubbed, and a spot in the middle of my back where a pine needle must have got into my sports bra. I've heard of other people who had it behind their knees or around their ankles. And of course, many people alluded to other more private places...

I'm trying to convince Hammer to go to Estonia with me. We don't need to run fast as long as we navigate well.
