Running 1:09:18 [2] 8.22 mi (8:26 / mi)
shoes: Gladiators 2010

Pretty steady run with Dark Peak, I was the only ‘whippet’ there. We took a magical mystery tour across Rivelin to the Needle, back across Rivelin Dam, up towards the Headstone, Conduit and across Archdale’s land just because we could before the restrictions next week, Daffodil Valley, Ocean View, loop high round Redmires and back to the Sportsman. Ripper.

Running race 39:25 [5] 5.75 mi (6:51 / mi)
shoes: Innov8 X-Talon 212

Burbage Skyline Fell Race. 5.75miles, 1200ft. 4th

First of the ‘summer’ races and it went much better than expected. There was a bit of a manic start, and the leaders took a suspect line down towards Burbage Brook, but I settled in just off the front pack. I felt quite good going up towards Owler Tor, overtaking Callum here and into 4th, but a bit worried I’d got a touch excited, gone off too fast and was passing people I shouldn’t. Couldn’t resist running fast when there’s so much rock hopping to do though. Felt good up Higger as well and made sure I went the right way, following Neil rather than Bond and Rob Little. Tried hard down the plummet, but had to stop for a piddle on the way to Burbage Bridge and lost vital seconds, though by now Bond, Neil and Rob were long gone. Another good section of rock hopping along the top of Burbage rocks was followed by a mad sprint to catch an ailing Northrop, though as soon as I hit Green Drive I got one hell of a stitch and settled for a painful trudge home.

A touch cold, but a great race and organised exceptionally well as ever by our very own Dark Peak.

Running 16:37 [2] 1.9 mi (8:45 / mi)
shoes: Innov8 X-Talon 212

Warm up on me tod, and warm down through Longshaw with Little Rob and Neil.
