good race,

4th control I stay too long on the roads.
At the 5th control the map isn't 100% correct, don't see the control immediately and I go left instead of right. Loosing 30" there.
Passing Gert Claes at the 7th control.
18th control, map isn't correct there - loosing again 30".

satisfied with my result,
don't loose that much time, towards 1: 15", towards 4: branch in eyes 20", and not the best route choice, completely round. good forest runnability made the straight route choice even faster so I loose 1' there.

I knew that the start time 10.05 would influence my race a lot, only Tarmo Kuub in front of me. So i took it easy.

I missed 2nd control just because I don't see him behind some branches. Had the feeling that the controls of KOVZ are pretty dirty.

control 22 was in the wrong spot, the organizer didn't really wanted to listen to my story and replied that the prerunners did not have any complains.

It was a good training, trying to keep running in the really high snow wasn't that easy. nice to run here as one of the first runners.

15' warm up together with Ari mostly.
7' warm down with Ari.
Late starttime so I was a bit more nervous before the start because I knew I could set a good performance.

Orienteering race 53:30 [4] 8.5 km (6:18 / km)
shoes: jalas

started of very well, than twisted my ancle again towards 5th control, got me out of my concentration a little bit. Missing 6th control, stupid mistake, not doing my own idea but trying to follow the biggest track.
Towards 7 I hit a branch quiet hard, and I get out of my rythm again.
Still at control 15 I'm in 3th position, but towards 16 I come out of the forest and I feel totally lost, I end up more than 100m west of the control. Not sure if the mapping is correct there.
Towards 18 I loose another 1'30", damned, my race is lost now.
Than I see my brother is getting closer to me and together we finish the race.
