Bicycling 30:00 [2]

To the high school and back.
Things are good.
7 K-5 schools will pilot our 3rd grade PE curriculum (4 lessons) in April. I think the 3rd grade curriculum is looking really good.
5 middle schools will have teams for the spring season, culminating in a final competition around June 11.
at least 3 middle schools will do World Orienteering Day / week / month.
The high school team has 16 kids signed up, and one of them is Keegan.
We are going to tackle the paperwork to make Junior Nationals an official school trip.

Tonight we have a board meeting to figure out how to make all this financially sustainable for Navigation Games. We need roughly $50k to make it to mid-2020 when we think we'll bring in enough grant money and program fees to cover most of our ongoing expenses.

I'm also super excited about our 15-lesson progression that we wrote down and are testing again in the spring at 4 Community Schools (7 classes a week).

Meanwhile,

Mom's cancer seems to be sneaking back into the picture and is likely the root of various symptoms - loss of function, and pain. I've been traveling to Chicago a lot to be with her and Dad, and figure out doctor stuff.

Work is going OK; I'm working 80%, and really loving the data analysis and not being a manager.

I'll be spending a week with my kids in the sun in March. I'll do a 6-hr rogaine with my son David (Raccoongaine), and then a 6-hr with Sandy the following weekend, building up toward WRC 2019 with David and WRC 2020 with Sandy. I'm so out of shape it's not even funny.

I'm tired. My ear is ringing. But I'm happy about how far we've come!
