Orienteering race 35:13 [5] 7.0 km (5:02 / km)
shoes: Brooks Racer ST

OrientaciĆ³n en Fallas. Urban middle distance race in Valencia. Location, former river bed turned into linear park. Most of the course was quite easy but I blew 1'30 on one of the few route choice legs which was disappointing. I'm note sure if my mind was quite ready for this one. Finished in 13th, 4min down. Quite fun even if the result was not quite there.

Event: Valencia WRE

Orienteering race 1:21:50 [4]
shoes: Brooks cascadia

Not so technical but I probably didn't push hard enough. I think after struggling on this years Costa Calida course a few days earlier I was a bit cautious.
I forgot that the ankle braces and cascadias don't work so well together and I had to stop a few times to try and stop the rubbing. Both F##cking laces came undone, have to get a refund on the super knot! Other than this stupid (on my part) time loss I only lost about 30sec on one control. 9'15 behind the winner and 7'30 behind Rob in second. I think I should probably have been 4 min faster, 1 min with the shoes and the rest running speed.

Orienteering 40:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks cascadia

Model event for saturdays race. Nice to stretch the legs after the drive up from Murcia. The Peugeot 206 turbo diesel returned 4.5l/100km, not bad with a mix of town, freeway 130-140km/h and some in the mountains!

Orienteering 1:30:00 [4] 11.9 km (7:34 / km)
shoes: Olway tiger (new)

La Muela II. Ran this years Trofeo Internacional course. 535m climb which was a bit of shock for the legs. Eddy and spent 5min looking for a tape on a shallow gully but never found it. Other time loss was coming down hill into some erosion gullies. My feet got really sore towards the end and the pace slowed quite a lot. I was glad that I managed to get around the whole course.

Running - road warm up/down 20:00 [2]
shoes: Olway tiger (new)

Warm up and warm down for the course.

Orienteering 40:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks cascadia

Guardamar. I shadowed the guys on this course. Pretty good pace when they managed to hold their focus.

Orienteering 33:00 [5] 6.0 mi (5:30 / mi)
shoes: Brooks cascadia

Guardamar norte. Full course in the afternoon. We all blew the second control with a few minutes. Went well after that, felt like I was getting into the groove. Saw a few other people training in the middle.

Orienteering 2:10:00 [4]
shoes: Brooks cascadia

Sierra del Oro. Started out with a long route choice, then ran most of the remaining course. Was out for 2'40 (a bit of time waiting for the other guys. I was getting pretty tired and thirsty by the end. Some really serious erosion gullies and cliffs on this map.
