Walking warm up/down 12:00 [1] 1.1 mi (10:55 / mi)

Running 48:00 [1] 6.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

planned to run five went six. Knee felt fine just started slow and got more fluid as I progressed. shoulder felt a bit funny and once I stopped it felt great again.
8 PM

Weightlifting 45:00 [1]

Went to PT this morning with a new doctor's order. I gave it to the therapist and made it really clear the doctor did not want me continuing that much longer with PT, learn the exercises and get on out the door. Of course she had to ask me what did you do in the last session and I said I now have a doctor's order changing the focus of the care to help the shoulder and back off the knee. I told him he really emphasized I can do this on my own. I know she did not like hearing this, but I had to be firm since if you are anything less it will be business as usual. I think they love my insurance and weaning them off the great reimubursement might be tough. At the end of the appointment she said she will make really sure the other two PT people that have been working with me are aware of this. I said the doctor's order should be a part of my medical record. I did mostly shoulder stuff only doing knee work while I was waiting for her to finish with another patient.
The cortisone was just starting to set in some it is supposed to take 24-48 hrs to really take action.

Note

I saw the doctor about my shoulder today and he said the rotator cuff was irritated. I let him inject the area since I am not progressing well in PT and he said this will speed up the healing process. He said the PT will help just it will take far longer to improve without the injection. I thought it would be really painful and he was so good at injecting the area I barely felt anything. I already made four PT appointments so I will go to those in which the doctor wrote a prescription emphasizing showing me the strengthening exercises which he said I can do on my own. Now I understand why the PT I spoke with on Tuesday, who also owns the business, was upset that I was going to get the injection.

PT exercises none for the shoulder skipped some exercises because I did not even want to put bodyweight on the shoulder.

Thursday Mar 25, 2010 #

Weightlifting 45:00 [3]

PT appointment. Shoulder the best feeling in six months. total time 2 hrs. Did lots of knee exercises plus starting some for the shoulder. Really stretched my shoulder out well.

after the PT felt much better versus yesterday. Ran some of this on trail.

arrived at the PT appt early so went for a walk instead of sitting in the office.

PT appointment. Much debate about what is causing the shoulder pain to continue. The therapist on Saturday thought it was work related today he thought it was from the running. I also reminded him that I was shooting which I told at least to him when I first walked through the door, he said he did not realize that so this entered the pool of ideas. So of course the next words out of his mouth is well do not do that let see if that makes it better. They have absolutely no clue.

shot well both prone and standing. Ended by placing five bullets through the same hole prone.

as much as I wanted to go orienteering decided not to risk anything with the knee since it is going so well. I ran for 67 mins on Saturday the most in a long time so I rested easy today. Watched March Madness. I have been predicting so well with the winners that I am beating out the professional people.

Weightlifting 25:00 [1]

PT exercises while watching March Madness. Watched Purdue win in OT to give me another correct pick also saw the replays of Michigan State beating out Maryland another correct one for me. Iced knee and shoulder at the end.
