One of my worse races in lots of ways. Got 1 absolutely perfectly, exactly as I had planned. Then everything went wrong. Didn't pay attention between the crossing points on the way to 2 and ended up waaaay too low. Tried to fix it but only made things worse. I wasn't super confident in my long distance form so after this mistake I thought I might have thrown any chance I had of a WOC spot. This is not the way to be thinking before getting number 2. Things went downhill from there and I couldn't hit a fish in a barrel (What is the phrase I want to use here?). Hesitations, misses, no motivation to run ensued. Improved a bit on the way to 15 when I was nearly passed out by Bex and I decided I should try running again. Caught up with Josh going to 19 after Bjarne Friedrichs passed me and in reality the body was feeling ok. Running started to feel good again. Had some confidence going to 20, past the bush aaaaaand no control. Motivation gone again even though I only missed it by like 15s. Didn't get the legs moving again after that.
Lessons to learn:
1. Believe in myself
2. Forget about past mistakes
3. Do the orienteering the way I know how
4. Respect the difficulty of the course
5. Believe in myself

Found it tough going. Lots of climb and two silly mistakes cost me being happy with my run. Never really got into a flow and had quite a few control circle misses. The route to 16 then was terrible as I never really committed to going around or going down and up.
Ultimate, week 2. Seattle Rainmakers vs Toronto Rush
We (the rainmakers) were waaaay better today. Actually doing decent throws and runs. We had a few bad pulls, but so did the other team. Managed to get myself a bit more involved with the scoring than I did last week and we had some really nice throws & catches.
Match was much closer as a result. We were mostly in the lead, or it was level until about 10-8. Then for some reason they stopped forcing backhand and there was a change in the tempo and they won 11-13 with the last point being a super long one.
