Running long (Canal) 1:42:59 [4] 16.6 km (6:12 / km)
ahr:165 max:181 shoes: Saucony Grid Fusion

Wanted to go on a long run to make up for a slack few days.
Headed along the canal and off towards Balerno. With no lights on in the tunnel I looked for an alternate route, but just ended up heading back via a different route. Got a bit lost, but ended up in Slateford and rejoined the canal.
I was really slow and just couldn't get speed into my legs. Especially on the way back.
Speed training needed this week, me thinks.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]
shoes: Saucony Grid Fusion

Just a wee jog with Kyle and Tom to loosen the legs.
Went via Innocence Tunnel, to Holyrood, and then onto the swimming pool.

Swimming long (Frontcrawl) 30:00 [4] 1.5 km (20:00 / km)

Decided I have to increase the distance.
So 30 lengths in 30 minutes.
Was much tougher than just doing the 20.

Hill-running race (Kilpatricks Hill Race) 1:06:39 [5] 9.6 km (6:57 / km) +426m 5:41 / km
ahr:181 max:188 shoes: VJ Twister

Was really nervous about this race, so thestomach got queasy as we journeyed via Glasgow.
But I really enjoyed it. Was stupidly walking far too early up the first ascend (encouraged by those around me) but tried to make up for that as best I could on the descents.
Am happy with my donwhill, but really need to work on a method of making it up the hills faster.
Overtook a number of people (7?) on the final descent.

[Garmin claimed it was 10.3km]

Note

It's the second day resting the legs. Though didn't feel so restful as I was up early for work, and on my feet all day.

Swimming long (Frontcrawl) 20:00 [3] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)

20 min, 20 lengths.
It's the norm these days.

Note

Legs are feeling weary and am nervous about Kilpatricks Hill Race that I've agreed to do on Wednesday evening (9.6km, 426m climb).
So am resting the legs over the next 2 days with just swimming as my form of training.

Swimming long (Frontcrawl) 18:00 [3] 0.75 km (24:00 / km)

Slow due to slow people in the lane.
Quite frustrating so stopped earlier than would have liked.
