slept:7.0 (rest day)

My legs are not especially tired or sore today, which is remarkable, and a testament to my being fitter than I was at the time of last year's sprint camp, I suppose (and hope.)

I ran to scout Street Scramble controls for the Alki Street Scramble in West Seattle. Maybe it's just because it's a mostly unexplored area for me, but I kept tripping over cool checkpoint features and thinking that this will be a really fun course. Part of the fun is the interesting shape of the terrain, which is essentially a big promontory--almost a peninsula, really--and this will dictate different route segment combinations for different time limits and different speeds of participants.

Anyway, as usual for a scouting run, this one was spread over several hours, since I made many lengthy stops and walking breaks to make map corrections, explore checkpoint options, and formulate questions and answers. My legs felt quite tired and moderately sore from yesterday's weight training and intervals.
