Cycling (MTB) 1:15:00 [5]

3rd leg. Passed midnight now. Started this leg at 3AM and did it faster than the previous one! I’m like those guys in the TDF that comes into the race in poor form, but rides to the occasion as the event progresses.

4th leg. (The only one on the team that did 4). Would have been my best lap, but non of the lazy bastards on my team wanted to do another lap, so I had to wait it out at the finish area instead.

Overall I’m satisfied with my progress, I’m not a MTB’er and I realised how much I’ll have to train on the technical things. Never the less, I kept improving during the night even though I where consuming a dozen beers throughout the event.

This was great fun, and I will most definitely do it again! BTW, the “clutters” where useless – next year maybe we need to aim higher than just to beat them???

Cycling (MTB) 1:15:00 [5]

First leg of the 24h. More or less disastrous, had to run the first 800m and did well on that. Later I had all the riders trying to get pass me out on the track! Women and children included. This made me realise that there’s a lot more technic involved in MTB than what I first thought. Also, my lungs are already suffering for the 10kg of dust I got in them…

2nd leg. Felt a bit better. Not that many people where passing me. Did more or less the same time as the first leg, even though this one was in the dark.

Ran over to Warren’s to pick up my pre-payed babysitting bike. Thanks Warren, it really is way too much! BTW, when are you gonna create a profile here yourself and start making sarcastic remarks? I have a feeling you’re on here already anyway…

The monthly Belgian Beer Café social ride. Didn’t ride with the fast guys this time either, just relaxed with the drunken Irishman as usual.

When the ride is at 8AM on a Saturday morning it is too dangerous for me to ride fast; accidents will happen! There’s no need for me to add to the Saturday morning deathroll on Beach Rd, it’s bad enough as it is…
