Teanaway 8hr Rogaine with Kid #1. Last year we focused primarily on the middle section so this year we went for the northern loop. Things went pretty well, but I had trouble taking the aggressive route to 41 and we ended up skipping it. Also got stuck in some real thick stuff trying to cross the stream and swamp to 102. In hindsight it would have been better to cross earlier and attack from above. We waited out a rain/hail squall after finishing this first loop under a tree and eating snacks. Then we hit a shorter loop on the southern section with some pretty cool controls. We had an hour to go after this loop so we ended up picking up 35, 46, and 47 to finish up and it's good we did or we would have lost. I think our total should actually be 1610, but results say 1580. It's got to be hard reading those punch cards. We probably had time for 65 and 108 on the southern loop. I think we were in the 900's last year for 4hr, so not quite double this year, but conditions were really sloppy and slow. Always fun to get out in the forest and find flags. Thanks to Eric and Pinksocks and crew for putting this on.
