Running 1:46:36 [2] 8.0 mi (13:19 / mi) +120m 12:44 / mi
shoes: Green Magnifly 5

walked a lot of the hills because my legs were sore, but they didn't cramp so that's a win in the new shoes. My other win is that the weather was cooler and less sunny, so my asthma was nowhere to be seen.

Warm-Up/Cool Down 12:31 [0] 0.72 mi (17:23 / mi) +8m 16:48 / mi

Note

Apparently they put a poster up in the rec center celebrating my gymnastics team, so I feel like I should mention that our Xcel Platinum women's team won nationals??? We didn't even place at regionals so idk what happened, but go team. Guess I gotta help defend the title next year and actually go to nationals.

Warm-Up/Cool Down 8:25 [0] 0.45 mi (18:43 / mi) +6m 17:58 / mi

Running 1:03:29 [2] 4.95 mi (12:50 / mi) +65m 12:19 / mi
shoes: Green Magnifly 5

Compared to last run: asthma was a bit better, allergies were more noticeable, temperature was the same, so who knows if this improvement is here to stay, but I'll take it. Feet are still getting used to the new shoes, so still have to stop to stretch/take a walk break occasionally but I think the cramps are improving.

Running long 2:38:24 [3] 11.15 mi (14:12 / mi) +70m 13:56 / mi
shoes: Navy Magnifly 4

It's 81 today. I'm definitely dehydrated and my asthma was a problem by like mile 3. So I took walk breaks every mile, and the last 2-3 miles were really more walking than running. I survived, but it was rough. It's a nice motivator to do my runs early and not in the middle of the day.

Warm-Up/Cool Down 12:00 [0] 0.64 mi (18:45 / mi) +3m 18:29 / mi

Note

I am returning to reality and realizing that even though the timing for a full marathon is right for my circumstances, it's probably not great for my lungs (my lungs ache after runs over 6-8 miles even in amazing weather. The additional heat/pollen triggered issues are just the nail in the coffin). If I still really want to race in November I can just do a half and try for a really good PR since the weather will be on my side, and then my mileage over the summer months can fall off a bit if needed.

It's a shame I can't make it work, but not being able to breathe right is not fun, and I feel like I need to get a medical opinion/better medication/years of a solid running base before going for a marathon feels less scary health-wise.

Warm-Up/Cool Down 4:20 [0] 0.25 mi (17:21 / mi)
shoes: Green Magnifly 5

Running 1:02:17 [3] 5.0 mi (12:27 / mi) +86m 11:49 / mi
shoes: Green Magnifly 5

Failed half marathon pace run. Despite using my inhaler pre-run my asthma was an issue at 1.3 miles in. Half marathon pace went from achievable (my last run) to basically impossible (this run). Not sure yet if it's allergies or just the heat, but either way it's annoying.
