Went and did the rest of Winmalee Ridge that I missed a few weeks ago after getting stuck behind a big fence. Pretty unlikely to go back, though there are some nice sections it’s mainly scratchy overgrown trail. That said, it does look like there might be an ok bush bash option over to yellow rock that’d open some big loops up. Still, twas good enough for some cruisey return to running with 60/30 x 4, 120/30 x 5, then 3/1 x 7.

Woke up at 8:50 and wondered where the BMMC Hipster coffee run crew might be, reports suggested I might catch them for a short run from Blaxland to Emu Plains, the shortest hop of the day at 4-5km.

So found some hipster garb (not hard) and raced for the train, and did indeed reach Euphoric before them for a leisurely coffee and pastry with Brendan who was on his bike. My hipster getup must have been suitable as someone asked if I rode a Penny farthing…

The crew eventually rocked up and we filled the coffee shop before rolling down some new trails for me to Emu Plains. Nice easy stop start running to keep the group together which worked well for my recovery running. Long break for coffee #2 so decided I’d carry on back to Glenbrook, so chilled at the back, walked the stairs and hills with others, and got round unscathed. Biggest issue was the ice cream didn’t sit well after my iced coffee…

After a manic few weeks at work it was lovely to be out running trails with folk again, onwards and upwards on the recovery front.
