Orienteering at Merli on a course that Greg designed. The terrain and map are fantastic and I can't wait to host an event there. Since it's hopefully going to be used for an NRE in the future I can't post the map and by running on it I guess I've committed myself to being one of the organizers. All I can say is it's a lot closer than Birmingham and the logistics are no where near as complicated!
The course was really physical in the beginning and I skipped (vomited?) a few controls worried that I wouldn't get back by the time I said I would, but the end of the course went much faster and I easily could have skipped less. But we started really late to accommodate work schedules and I was just a bit worried since it was sort of dark in the woods and I was a bit tired so probably not a bad decision. But, delightful woods and really fun navigation and only a little over an hour away.
