Decided to go orienteering at Lost Lakes so made up a course, loaded it into UsynligO and took off. When I got to the parking area, it was clear that something was going on: there was a nice chunky gravel road where a dirt, grass and puddle road used to be. Headed down the road not really knowing what I would find. Right about where my start/finish was located, it became clear that there was a logging operation going on. The hillside on the east side of the trail starting near the S/F is marked as private property. It is apparently owned by a hunting/gun club. But they must have sold off a chunk of it since it was being logged. My course went to the west side of the trail to start so I figured I'd do my course and see what happened. I was moving (slowly) right along, hitting all my controls pretty well. As I was heading to 8 I was thinking I was tired and maybe I'd skip 9, 10 and 11 and call it a day when I hit the trail. But I rallied, crossed the trail, hit the nice little hilltop and heading to 9 when I could see that the whole area where 9 and 10 were located had all been cut down. It's a really nice section of woods so very, very disappointing. I headed for 11 thinking to stay in the woods but then could see that there was a lot of debris piled up along side the trail in places. Deciding going to 11 wasn't going to add much to the outing, I bailed to the trail almost back where I had come in and then just walked the trail back to my car.

Time includes some of the walk to start and the walk back from the finish. It's hard to walk on the chunky gravel stuff.
