Pentlands Plod with Alex.

Started off a bit grim with a bus mishap and cow standoff when trying to cross a fence but things improved once we got into the thick of the hills. Excellent chat about some rather suspect topics and the time flew by. Was definitely not on any kind of pace grind, just walked the steep stuff and kept pushing on. A fairly meandering route taking in Carnethy for the first time and ending in a few km of road running, which was stringently not welcomed by the quads.

Knee doing knee things, painful at times but overall could be worse. Had to stop and investigate some sharp feels at points.

Bus back and after a quick maccies pit stop had a nice sunset walk up the seat for Alexes 30th ascent, finding a lovely new climb/scramble (Thanks Claire :)) All this after a rather soul destroying 4 hours of sleep. Day = seized.

Easy half slap, cut across to KF, lap then home. Same old issue of just slipping into z3 incredibly easily. Knee was mid and started hurting 2/3 of the way through, both ache and sharp, also in the back of the knee. Hopefully its a 2 steps forward, 1 step back scenario.

Feels easily the best they’ve been for about a month. Virtually painless apart from a couple seconds out of the saddle. Very pleased but gonna be careful to ease back, easy weekend and SnC today again. However, did have an absolutely stomach churning, suicide inducing case of TT which seemed to flare up at random points. Can’t think what caused it, haven’t changed anything relevant, maybe just an unlucky day.

3xJS1. I refuse to progress to the pit of despair and suffering that I assume JS2 or even JS3 would bring. Things still feeling pleasantly fatigued, probs the most SnC I’ve ever done in a week.

Feeling embarrassingly fatigued after yesterday, especially in glutes and calfs but generally all over. Felt like quality training tho a lot more of a sufferfest than normal.

Knee feeling fine so decided to join Wozzle, EuanT, FionaE and Junley on the long run to “””pasta”””” night at Toby Carvery.

Had to dash in order to be there in time, but it was all for nothing as EuanT was later than me anyway. Decided to lap the watch as things got a bit more intense than they really should have.

Decent route inc Braids, Blackburn and Hermitage. Didn’t really know where we were, lost Sunley and Fiona part way through and nice chats with Wozzle and EuanT. A bit too close to z3 for a long run but didn’t want to delay the others, knee twinging at 20mins but settled after that. A few other twinges that ill just put down to rust, inc the post running cough.

Knee nice most of the day, started to hurt more mid afternoon in a sharp kinda way. Really wanted to do intervals just to get back to it but objectively a bad idea atm. Setting my sights on Thursday.

Thinking that either me or that junction is cursed cuz had a little whoopsie there again today. Pulled away from the lights in a high gear, switch down but the chain decided to go all the way off. At this point i was up trying to grind out some speed so almost went OTB when the resistance dropped. I was left skating along on my feet, still astride the bike and almost swerving into the other lane. Really need to learn how to ride a bike tbh

Knee kinda meh today, fine when cycling but occasional twinges when stationary and towards the end of the day.

Trying to angle the right knee in a more normal/symmetrical way, feels weaker and a bit sore so not a massive success.
