Biking 5:19:46 [1] 55.95 km (10.5 kph) +499m

Day 5 of Kettle Valley Railway: Beaverdell to Hydraulic Lake.

Steady climb all day. Was longer than expected because Ride With GPS took a shortcut! Nice swim at lunch at Arlington Lakes. Not so much views in latter half of ride, mostly in forest.

Day 3 of Kettle Valley Railway: Grand Forks to Midway.

Another great ride, seemed much easier than previous days even though it was longer. Trail rough on way up, but awesome views over the valley as the railway hung off the cliff. Rough and a bit hot on last loose-surfaced leg down into Midway.

Day 1 of Kettle Valley Railway trip - Castlegar to Christina Lake. Lovely hot day, good climb up to Bulldog tunnel. Getting too hot after lunch for last 10km of ride, had some team meltdowns. Then last 40km downhill was so fast! And it got hotter and hotter. Felt like a blow drier!

COC '22 Middle on Ramparts map - last day of 8 days of racing. Overcast and nice temperature at start of race. Great area, open forest, rock detail in some areas, contour in others - great variety. For a middle went okay for me, no blow-outs like I used to have. But shaky/slow off the start and at least one mistake (control 5). But really, I just was not fast enough. Boris had a great run and was 6:46 ahead of me. I am just disappointed to have been clipped as 1st Canadian. Would have liked a gold hat trick.
