British sprints qualifier - 1st?
Big mix up with the M20 courses/maps meant Jim and I had to run 1-3 instead of 1-2 on a punching start. Bit of a delay but ultimately got away fine. Pushed too hard at the start, having a couple of small hesitations in the first built up section.
Rest was all fine - took the foot considerably off the gas when I caught sight of Jim at #22 and just tempo’d in from there.

Running 14:02 intensity: (1:11 @1) + (12:21 @2) + (28 @3) + (2 @4) 2.47 km (5:41 / km)

WD with Jim and Fin - whole courses thing meant we were stood at the finish for about 20 minutes getting stiff and cold so this was just an attempt to loosen off a bit.

WU. Only found out when I was starting under 30 mins before so this was a bit rushed, but got to the start all fine. You’ll probably hear lots about the issues today but ultimately everyone tries their best, it was an honest mistake, and the courses were top notch. So, really, no worries.

Sprint final - 1st
Had watched the lads in front all looking very wobbly off the start so went slow and realised they’d in fact gone the wrong way. Nailed the routechoice and knew that I would have put time in from the off.
Ticked off the next few no bother and caught fin going back over the motorway. Engaged in a full on bear hug/collision with another competitor going into #13, which wasn’t ideal, but I respected our mutual lack of desire to back down from the predicament. Game recognises game.
Behind Jim by this point but got ahead to #16 when he misread the levels. Started to feel it but pushed on and nailed all the remaining controls before just a filthy raz into the finish.
Overall, pleased with that. Didn’t get caught out and was very pleased with the geeking done in advance. Onwards.

Running 13:58 intensity: (2:02 @1) + (11:56 @2) 2.18 km (6:24 / km) +2m 6:23 / km
ahr:128 max:137 shoes: Brooks Trace 1 #2

WD with James and wozzle
