Travelling back from Mackay QLD via Brisbane. My roommate, Donald from Dunedin, tested positive for COVID via a pre-flight RAT. He now has to isolate in Australia for 7 days before he can return home to New Zealand. He's frustrated because he feels 100% and religiously wore a mask everyday on the bus and at the track to avoid just this scenario. Luckily we had separate rooms in the motel apartment so I don't really feel the need to get tested unless I get symptoms.

A new track set on the SW edge of Mackay, adjacent to a sugarcane plantation. This year's championships have been expanded to incorporate U16 teams and masters events. Fewer competitors from the Pacific nations, possibly due to the onerous quarantine requirements to get back home.

Bluewater Trail from Mid City to Ron Camm Bridge, Mackay QLD. This bike path follows the S edge of the Pioneer River. Detoured across some river mud flats and a parallel gravel road to avoid the hard surface. Very flat and fast. Turned around at the Bruce Highway underpass. No HRM data this week. 27°C.
