Jukola 4th leg. Nothing special, safe run with one ~ 30 sec mistake. This would be more fun with better fitness.

I have that in VHS format, I have been thinking of getting it digitized but looks like someone got there first.

Orienteering (night) 38:00 [3] 3.6 km (10:33 / km)

Short lazy night run. I though I should do one night O run before Jukola. Well, now it's done.

Heavy legs, no energy, had to walk a lot, struggled to hold any focus on O. Not recovered from SG, it was quite tough weekend for me.

Note

The size of over half of the dot knolls on SG map is same or smaller that small stone. At least one form line almost everywhere, except steepest parts. Less double form lines that last year's SG map (2012 map was awfull). Lots of cliffs shorter than the diameter of the big boulder.. Deviations pretty much always without a good reason, map would have done well wihtout those details, just generalized a bit. And it was all the time known the map will be printed and used at scale 1:15. Some HS folks must a bit at nakkikioski what it comes to mapping and orienteering.

Suunto Games, day2. I had better day now. I did not push as hard as yesterday in the beginning and now I could hold the pace better. Some mistakes, lost focus on the way to the road on my way to #2, and to #11 I for some reason I now canät understand decided at first go straight. I lost surprisingly little to the winner, I guess top guys did not do really well today.

Poor run, no any big mistakes but some suboptimal routes, exits to slightly wrong direction etc. And I was soft, a lot softer than I thoght and hoped. I guess tooth aches, monday's dentist visit and all the painkilers must have finally taken over, I have been eating ibu and keto like bread lately.

So Orhi won me. I always hate when that happens. he did it 4 years ago and now again. I think must get used to it.

My performance is slowly getting better - birch pollen isn't making much trouble now.

Weekend trip to LPR. Fixed some of my dad's computer troubles and got see his operated ankle and how he can alredy can walk a bit with it. it looks like he will be on skis byt the ski-O season 2013-14 and that will be great.
