Running warm up/down 20:00 [1]

Orienteering race 1:00:00 intensity: (20:00 @2) + (20:00 @3) + (20:00 @4) 7.0 km (8:34 / km)

Uusimaa district hight champs. Not my district, so I ran kind of outside competition.

Just before the race I got email telling they did not take me to the finish night champs. Fair play my ass, they simply lured people by changing last entry day one day earlier from what it has been all previous years and then no mercy for those who were one day late. I still dont know do I like my volunteer work is used by these guys who support this kind of fair play attitude. Anyway, my motivation was gone and during the race I found myself thinking why I am running this training race if I don't go to national champs. It was not fun was thinking dfn the first half, did not focus much on navigation and never bothered to run harder than lazy training pace. With my slow speed and some stupid but quite small mistakes I was 5th about 5 minutes behind winner.

Walle was superb.

Forest run (Night) 35:00 intensity: (30:00 @2) + (5:00 @4)

head lamp run with Rabbit Rooster's little brother Walle. I saw only one rabbit tonight.

Note

BTW, I missed my entry to Finnish night champs. I tried to so it today (wednesday ) but it was already closed. I thought I could do it today because Finnish federation rules say the last entry day should be 10 days before the event. But they had 11 days! I sent email and asked about it but I don't think they will take me. Not a big deal, sleeping is better alternative anyway.

Orienteering 46:02 [4] 6.8 km (6:46 / km)

Finnish Relay champs.
http://www.hiisirasti.fi/fin5/gadget/cgi-bin/reitt...

Second leg, went 13th to forest and game 6th back.
~15 sec mistakes a #1, #8 and second last.

I didn't take gps. I decided to get rid of all extra weight as I do in team/relay events. On my own it doesn't matter that much.

I saw O track log recorded with Forerunner 310XT. Doesn't look good, looks like fore 305 wins hands down what it comes to track log quality.

Forest run (Head lamp run) 35:00 [1]

Head lamp test run. First loop with a lamp made by my fried. 2 x warm tint MCE. Yellow light, about same tint as halogen ore even more yellow. Second loop with my own Walle - 2 x P7.

HS girls had meeting at our place and Annika Björk was still there when I played with those lamps, I even introduce her to the Rabbit Rooster. She tried to look serious but she did not succeed wery well in that, especially when I shoed the MCE light. No wonder, it's basicly two leds with wires and just lots of tape :)

Running 24:00 [2] 5.33 km (4:30 / km)

hesburger loop

Note

I tweaked dot maps a bit, take a look and tel l what do you think. There is now two rings around each control and I calculate time used inside each ring (diameters 40m and 150m). The idea is get some hard numerical data how much time is used at control, how well you "spike" it and how well you leave it.

Running 40:00 [1]

Dropped car to be repaired nd ran home. Windscreen wipers didn't move any more. Spanish car, I guess those are not as important in sunny costa del sol spain as they are in this dark, rainy and miserable part of the earth we are trying to live just for the heck of it.
