Lesson @ Maybury. May refine it for any others, so that it doesn't include a big stretch in nettles. Excited that this person is likely to be back...in part because she's doing paddle o.

If there are any numbers nerds....quest for WRC 2020.

6 AM

Biking 1:03:27 intensity: (58 @0) + (56:18 @1) + (6:11 @2) 15.67 mi (14.8 mph) +11m
ahr:127 max:150 weight:229lbs shoes: Long Haul Trucker

Didn't feel like it should have been hugely slower.

There's an abandoned cube three feet me where parts and monitors are accumulating; I've started to park my bike in there, let's see if anything happens.
4 PM

Biking 1:09:37 intensity: (15 @0) + (58:08 @1) + (10:45 @2) + (29 @3) 15.6 mi (13.4 mph) +71m
ahr:129 max:152 shoes: Long Haul Trucker

Back to the ranch, slightly warm, but favorable winds for the first half.

I'm slightly dying that I didn't know this was happening to carve out time for it.

North American Unicycle Convention and Championships

I learned about it by seeing signs with unicycles while walking around my block. Events are that close!!! Why is our big software release at work this week, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Unrelated, current Monkey Man stats @ 4 month checkup:

27.75" / 70.5 cm: 99% percentile T A L L B O Y
15 lbs, 7 oz / 7 kg: 50% percentile F I T B O Y
Head circumference 76% percentile S M A R T B O Y

Biking 58:58 intensity: (2:29 @0) + (36:44 @1) + (18:15 @2) + (1:30 @3) 15.76 mi (16.0 mph) +11m
ahr:132 max:162 weight:231lbs shoes: Long Haul Trucker

I would have bailed given the choice - monkey is a sweet little boy, but has been somewhat distraught at what should be fall asleep time, turning that into a not restful and later-than-ideal bedtime experience. But my car is in to get the a/c fixed (it's brutal right now without!), so not really a choice!

Really didn't expect to see sub 1 hr, although on full pulls the time is marginally shorter since I stop shortly after I get onto the work grounds, versus when i go around back to the overnight parking on split commutes.

Maybe there's a small chance I could be fit in 12 weeks or so. Although HR for effort seems a little bit high yet.
5 PM

Biking 1:10:46 intensity: (10 @0) + (4:29 @1) + (1:05:45 @2) + (22 @3) 15.49 mi (13.1 mph) +71m
ahr:142 max:155 shoes: Long Haul Trucker

Not too bad, until the final stretch, where I ran out of oomph.

The shop had a backlog of A/C repairs, so I could do this again tomorrow unless I do some clever work from home vs. work splitting.

Found bidirectional MTB trails in a place Igor has lidar. But it's not super huge. Middle distance bike o?? Haven't sampled it yet, maybe Saturday.

Canoeing 1:06:27 intensity: (14:04 @0) + (52:23 @1) 3.36 mi (19:47 / mi) +2m 19:44 / mi
ahr:94 max:111 weight:231.8lbs shoes: Pirate Canoe

My favorite paddle partner and I tested our race setup on Newburgh Lake. Running the boat backwards makes it easily steerable despite the weight disparity (3:1), although it did cramp her legs a bit in the now cozy front cockpit area, so we might have her sit backwards from time to time to stretch out. Plus I should attach some foam for comfort this week...

With the easy 3 mph, we should be able to plan our best 9 mile route for the paddle o, which will be tight for clearing at 15 km straight-line....looks like we'll have to be strategic about a drop or two.
7 PM

Walking 1:07:57 intensity: (11:12 @0) + (56:45 @1) 2.99 mi (22:44 / mi) +2m 22:41 / mi

Pushing monkey to burn some c's while waiting for SLJC's youth group to wrap up.
