Note

I stopped by Historic Fort Wayne on Saturday to see Heidi and MindyMiddy[1] race some cx. It was pretty fun! There were a lot of people there, which got me to thinking.

Mad Anthony CX results for 2016

(Don't need to look at anything other than to see how long it is.)

They charge 7x as much as we do, plus you have to have a $10 single day license or $70 annual license. And there were a ton of bikes whose prices likely have four numbers in them and didn't start with a 1. So I don't believe our price point is a problem.

Things that are different than an o meet:

* Multiple spectactor loops
* LIVE HECKLING
* I believe there was alcohol involved
* Food vendors
* Gear for sale

I am not saying we need to do all of that, but I am excited that our event director would enable live results on screens and such, which should make it a tiny bit more of a party.

Orienteering 1:40:03 intensity: (1:40 @0) + (22:15 @1) + (18:03 @2) + (24:13 @3) + (19:06 @4) + (14:46 @5) 6.22 mi (16:05 / mi) +121m 15:10 / mi
ahr:152 max:201 18c

Surprised I was leading at 9, not surprising I lost momentum in some green, and really choked to 17 finding easy walking.

Orienteering 50:44 intensity: (2:31 @0) + (35:55 @1) + (11:42 @2) + (36 @3) 2.08 mi (24:24 / mi) +40m 23:02 / mi
ahr:122 max:154 6c

My nemeses from the east side. Easier at pick up speed, you have some small control about finding easier walking.

Hunter in a tree stand @ Red #5 had moved it out to the power line, but I guess he gave directions so a wash.
