Walking 45:00 [3] 3.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

Dress shoes and full pack (wheel in the shop for hub rebuild)

Thursday Oct 1, 2015 #

Note

Dragon rear wheel in for a hub bearing rebuild @ 3800 miles. Noticed as a bit of a ringing clang, then a small wobble at the hub. Rode fine.

Note

Bonus yesterday: Driving home from daughter pick up, I heard a bunch of noises and then saw a bunch of lights.

It turns out I can change a pulley and belt on the side of the road, with only three trips to stores.

Note

So as of early this morning, we were getting our house keys on 10/3, then we'd have a nice couple days to paint a couple rooms and change a floor or two.

Then our agent called today and said they'd use the full allowed occupancy, and we could have the house on the 13th. Which is a Tuesday. Also our last possible day to be at our current house.

They got their house keys yesterday as far as I know. So they'll take two and a half lackadaisical weeks to casually drift to their new crib, and stick us with...four hours?

Note to self: So forgetting to check the "high quality" box on the fb album page has them look awful.

Warmup while chatting with Keating.

Orienteering 42:32 intensity: (2:06 @1) + (6:58 @2) + (10:31 @3) + (13:48 @4) + (9:09 @5) *** 3.55 mi (11:59 / mi) +2m 11:58 / mi

Much cleaner than last year. Only overshot #1, then a few very minor bobbles or hesitations. Mostly loss to Igor and huge gap to Andrew was fitness. Got quite dizzy to #11, had to walk a few. Slow pace was painful to get to 12 and out. I love corn mazes!

Not sure why I got HR flyers; maybe time for a new battery again.
3 PM

Orienteering 11:35 intensity: (4 @0) + (11:31 @1) *** 0.55 mi (21:12 / mi) +2m 20:58 / mi

Picked up a few backs on the exit side. Amazing how fast you can get to things when you do them in any order. Also still amazing how if you drop attention for 5 seconds you can miss a junction and be surprised to find yourself at the next one (en route to my final bag).
