I am sooo lucky.

Got off to a late start - it's cold and windy, my house was warm...then being bundled up is like a 2-3 mph hit, plus the crazy headwinds were also a speed hit, so my summer time estimate of ~25 minutes was a bit ambitious. I texted w4j that I was late, so when I turned onto the last major road, I saw some other nut riding a bicycle in these conditions, thought it must be her.

Concentrated too much on the other biker to see...the skunk! I got very close before a panicked swerve towards the other side of the road. But Mr Skunk was gracious and did not spray me. Thank you, skunk man.

Then it was very windy and tiring. We went up Kensington hill and looped back around. I dropped off the fudge and an ankle brace as we parted ways.

I believe I saw a mink just before I entered my sub. Unless there are large water-seeking ferrets on the loose. Well something mink like anyway.

Walking 1:15:00 [3] 1.0 mi (1:15:01 / mi)

Trick or treat. Eventually I'll be able to feel my hands.

Sleepy. But not cold feeling, despite 42°F.

Note

No power for over a half dozen hours this morning!

Reasons not to host an A meet:

* Many maps are dated...when they were used in 2008
* We have overmapped boulders
* Is there any way in hell we get printing right?

Orienteering 55:20 intensity: (22 @0) + (20:35 @1) + (14:16 @2) + (19:50 @3) + (17 @4) *** 3.98 mi (13:54 / mi) +105m 12:51 / mi
ahr:140 max:168 spiked:3/5c shoes: Inov8 Roclite 319

Planned an ambitious night o training, but screwed up my #3 (walked through circle, looped around, then got it), then sniffed the circle of my #5 before stupidly wandering away. But, once I was established in my wandering, I did realize where I was. By then I was tight on time to meet my ride so I cruised back on roads.

Walking 41:38 intensity: (1:59 @0) + (28:24 @1) + (11:15 @2) 2.75 mi (15:08 / mi) +241m 11:54 / mi
ahr:115 max:149 shoes: Brooks Ghost 5s

1/4 flat, 1/4 12%, 4 mph

If you are using AP's grade conversion for climb, but did an uneven number of reps, you can enter the even number of distance (eg, 2.5 miles for me in this case), convert the (12+0)=6% grade to climb, then update the 2.5 to 2.75 to add in the last non-paired segment and you'll keep the right climb number. if you care that much, and I suggest not caring that much.

Last fling with the island, firing up my headlamp and trying not to clip any ninjas. Only accidentally trespassed a little bit. Lungs and legs burned on final climb up Fort.
