Walking 1:00:00 [0] 3.0 mi (20:00 / mi)

Stupid test car wouldn't go above 18 mph, so I returned it and walked back to my office. It was not especially pleasant.

Orienteering 2:30:00 [1]

Huron Meadows permanent course. I had a few free hours, and I'm helping Cooper with the November meet, so I decided to go out, and deliberately stayed slow to stay really on top of my location and also to notice other features.

I started from the golf course building. In general, I thought it ran long for me because it was pretty wet. Swamps you could've stayed dry cutting across back in July were at least ankle deep, and that was before the muck collapsed. It will be interesting to see how much it dries out before the meet.

CL - I thought this was one of the more difficult ones. It is correctly identified as overgrown - in fact, there is plant material OVER the post. I walked down the hill from it, but didn't spot it until I came back around and looked down from the top.

PP - Sort of tough to find a good approach. That light green was reasonably thick, so I ended meandering a bit.

EP - easy to find, but a bit thick if you head out due east. I wish I hadn't!

LK - really on the south side of the tree, and not overgrown at all

RW - really on the westmost reentrant/gully on a rock pile with white runnable woods, not as marked on that one in the middle in greener areas.

There is also an unmarked, but very noticeable foot trail up to the west most point - actually less overgrown than the trail through the swamp, and a gigantic unmarked trail (pickup sized!) on the east side of the map near RW. I'll have to see how map updates are handled. There are reports of other trails that are unmarked.
