Orienteering (Green course) 1:52:48 [0] *** 4.85 mi (23:16 / mi)
ahr:129 max:151 spiked:8/12c slept:8.0 weight:121lbs

Ran the Green course.... had a good run had to hunt around for for control as I missed left or right but at the right area.... everything went well until I leftl # 4 and just ran toward the water and did not have a good plan and it cost me..... I ended up to far to the left of the crossing area and it cost me at least 5 min.... to go back left to crossing....don't know what I was thinking... I wasn't..... then was to far left of # 6 and had to hunt around... did the same thing at # 8 but know it right away and went right to it.... On # 9 I change it up and was off to the right.... but I got extra points because I found one last nights controls... then at # 11 I went back to my old ways and was off to the left again and again know it right away and headed right to the bag.... then an easy run to 12 and home...... So it was a good run for me and I feel good about what I did and can see with alot of work I might figure this sport out .... it is real cool when you hit the bag dead on right where it should be....... I am glad I made this event....

Orienteering race (Tan Course) 35:47 [0] *** 1.78 mi (20:06 / mi)
ahr:132 max:156 spiked:4/6c slept:8.0 weight:121lbs

Ran the tan course after a 30 min. rest.... did well until # 5... missed to the right it took about 2-3 min. to find it...
changed and was on the road home by 11:30.... got home in 3 hrs.... thus ended a super weekend..... everything went well at a great park..... got alot of skill work in and felt like I got a good base to work from in the future... I made some goofs... but no big killers.... most were misses a little left or right... but I know I was in the right area and just had to move left or right to find the bag..... this is a big step for me.... as in the past I have just kept running and ended up a long way from the control..... all weekend I know where I was within 20 meters..... Made one bad route where I just ran and lost contact.....that cost me 5-6 minutes.... and one goof where I hit the area and just could not find the bag which was only about 10 meters from me I had to relo 3xs and then found it in some fur trees ..... So it was a great weekend and I think I moved forward....got 34 more bags......only 1942 more controls to find.....

Orienteering race (Green course) 1:47:00 [4] *** 5.1 km (20:59 / km)
spiked:7/10c slept:8.0 weight:121lbs

Ran the Green course at Pawtuckaway S.P. in New Hampshire...... The Boulder here are as big as my house...... has a good run.... just one bad goof up at # 3.... I hit the area dead on but could not find the right boulder.... went south to the stone wall and came back....still could not find the bag ... went northwest and hit the trail and came back to the same spot..... that was three for three ending at the same spot look a little west in some fur trees and bingo there the little sucker was..... yuk....cost me at least 15 min.... hit # 4 a little to the right but saw off to the side... go run to 4 hit the road and went left and found the point of the ridge and turned up saw the water on my right and went up the hill spike # 5..... went to the road and then followed the wall to the end and up to the bag... spike... I was afraid to go over land and took easy hand rail.... long run to road and then down to wall and the bag at 7.... went to the north end of water then along it to # 8 ....went across the marsh and hit a bag by a boulder on the far side.. headed up the hill and ran right into # 9 ...Just got lucky.... I thought it was futher up.... then easy run to 10 and home.... Not bad felt I know where I was 95% of the time.... starting to use the brown line more.... Boy it feels great when you hit the bag dead on... a new feeling for me....

spiked:4/6c

Ran the Tan course after and hour rest..... had a good run... was off a little left at # 4 and had to run up the hill to the right..... found 5 ok but went slow and ck-ed off things as I went so as not to goof up like last week when I was tired... later when I ck-ed the standings I was first.... Yes.. then this Ali person went out on Tan and did in 16 min.... there go's my minute on the mt. top.... as Becky says.... Grrrrr !!!! But I came away feeling real good about the work that I did today.... Its a good first step to getting better..... The Park is great and I am so glad I came.....
