10 AM

running warm up/down 12:00 [1] 1.7 km (7:04 / km) +10m 6:51 / km
shoes: Inov8 Oroc 340

jog to the start with some dynamic stretches

11 AM

Orienteering race 50:41 [5] 8.43 km (6:01 / km) +150m 5:31 / km
ahr:159 max:170 shoes: Inov8 Oroc 340

YHOA Superleague, Tankersley, Short Brown
better, felt solid, pity about the silly mistake near the end, not a great course, too many long track running legs

#2 paused at end of knoll to check map, 10m from control [10]
#5 came down ditch, looked like attacking from path was easier [10]
#7 attacked from lower path, could've gone in earlier, slow up to flag [15]
#14 surpised to see long depression on my left, slowed up, paused at thicket [30]
#22 switched off, dead easy control but didn't read map inside circle, bang on line found depression not flag, if I contined another 10m I'd have seen it, instead looped back to attack point [80]
#24 good route but should've rounded the spur instead of climbing it [15]

two reasons for error at #22: eyesight and poor concentration because I was monitoring by physical performance (given recent travails)

7th 8mins behind Nathan Lawson, who will have crushed me on the track runs

Mapping 2:00:00 [0] 2.0 km (1:00:00 / km)
shoes: Vivobarefoot Breatho trail

checking the Forty Acre map and exploring some of the light/mid green areas, or in other words, wandering around talking to myself, found a depression (sort of) in a lovely larch plantation

5 PM

Core Conditioning 25:00 [1]

KV core conditioning and hip stretches

12 PM

running 55:20 [3] 10.12 km (5:28 / km) +150m 5:05 / km
ahr:152 max:165 (sick) shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

Stanton Moor Spirals
weather forecast was spot on, sun came out before lunch so I took the opportunity to visit Stanton Moor, and it was warm, the bad news is the run was tough going, definitely not feeling as strong as I did earlier in the year, bit of a noxious odour from the sinuses

given the pace I was going at the average HR is a bit high ...

addenda: the run seems to have shaken up some phlegm, a cough has developed

Thursday Oct 30, 2014 #

Note
(sick) (rest day)

tempted to resume training, but other things got in the way, such as the darkness falling

Core Conditioning 25:00 [1]
(sick)

more KV: core conditioning and hip stretches

Tuesday Oct 28, 2014 #

Note
(sick) (rest day)

feeling a bit better, but if been so off the pace recently, I think a very light week may be required

Monday Oct 27, 2014 #

Note
(sick) (rest day)

I should've guessed: my insatiable thirst before the run yesterday was a sign of not being well, my dismal pace another. Slight head cold developed today. Gonna have to rest.
