If it isn't already obvious, I'm resting up after my flying visit to Croeso. Two days on, two days off!

(Going to have to strap my right ankle next time out 'cause my contouring escapade on the to 12 put a bit of strain on it, Friday.)

Croeso, Day 5, Teifi Pools
slightly better performance today physically, pushed myself a bit more, but even then could've done more

missed 2 left and low, dawdled on the way up to 4, paused at 5 where there was a re-entrant that was shown as a col on the map (I think), apart from that route choice ...

6. Across to the big lake, ran around the edge (including a stretch on the wall) and then over to the next lake, passing close by 9, 10 and 11

12. north of the marsh to the edge of the big lake, down the slope, and then contoured - realised it wasn't so easy to run, wished I'd thundered down the valley and taken the modest climb at the end

Croeso, Day 4, Teifi Pools
very disappointing, the marshes got to me, just couldn't get it going at all, (2km walk to assembly and another 2.5km to the start)

technically, not too bad, ran straight at the first and nailed it, strayed off-line briefly near the top of the hill on the leg, and further on the way to 8, because I couldn't bring myself to climb, went left to 9, crossing a 'path' without noticing it

think my route choice was too clever on the long leg, more or less straight to the road then went right, keeping high, running along the edge of the big lake, so I could climb across the slope, but then I ran out of puff

19th of 39 - my target was top 15 ...

went for a leisurely walk near the campsite, it was steeper and more spectacular and took longer than I'd expected

Cromford canal, Crich Chase
my sister gave me a lift down to Whatstandwell so I could run in the woods at Crich, but I hadn't figured on the bracken - it completely covered the paths, head high, in places - this slowed me down quite a bit, and then the path back down the hill was muddy and bramble-strewn later, didn't enjoy that bit too much
