Orienteering race 59:38 [3] *** 7.9 km (7:33 / km) +100m 7:06 / km
spiked:21/22c (sick) shoes: inov8 Mudclaw 272

EMOA League, Thieves Wood
my cold wasn't getting any better, nor any worse, and there's only so much sitting around I can take (easier to run around a wood than the streets in snow), so out to Thieves Wood we went

Nice course, but very easy: most of the flags were visible from outside the circle. So a day for the runners. I felt fatigued approaching the halfway mark. I could judge the loss of pace by the way the guy I'd caught at 6, started to have the edge on me, but I stayed in touch and then we took different routes on 19 and I didn't seem him again ... 'cause I chose the best one. :)

12th, 10mins behind Joe Taunton

(9.45km)

running warm up/down 20:00 [1]
shoes: inov8 Mudclaw 272

good warm up before the start and jogged half the way back from the finish (both were a fair distance due to a relocated car park)
