Orienteering race 1:05:39 [4] *** 9.7 km (6:46 / km) +205m 6:07 / km

EMOA League Event, Carsington Pastures
a fast area, but wasn't able to keep the pace up, tailed off badly at the end, walking most of the uphill legs towards the end

technically quite good, a couple of hesitations, stayed too high coming off Harboro and had to waste time clambering down a cliff face

12mins behind Mr Adams (and 19 behind Peter Hodkinson) so I guess that's not too bad, it won't get me those extra 8 ranking points, I fear ...

The Edges (White, Froggatt, Curbar)
my sister drove me up to Curbar Edge and set me loose, beautiful day, lovely soft, dry paths, felt good setting out, but not so good around the turn and - damn it! - had to walk for 2mins on the last incline to Curbar, the slow ascent got me, and the 'heat' ...

disappointed, until I found I'd run 2km more than I had calculated

A6 Arc to Whitworth Centre
ran to the o-night, used it as a warm up, the reverse of the last leg yesterday, but more climb going in this direction, felt laboured

Farley Hill, Ladygrove, A6
hard to get going today, calves stiff from Sunday's 'long' one, and yet the first split was 45 seconds faster than last week's blinder (though I'd lost about 30 of those by running up a dead end)

But the Garmin's battery ran out after that split, and there was I, calculating by how much I would beat my previous best, composing my Attackpoint entry as I ran ... only noticed when I got to the next split at the bottom of the hill.

So after some cursing I abandoned the route and headed straight home along the A6 to get a better estimate of the total time

still haven't completed this route ...
