set a target of <45mins which meant 4.40pkm, but couldn't make that pace and started to suffer after 30mins, bad fall early on didn't help, on the other hand my routes were shorter than others so I've come out on top so far

opted for a hard 10+km on roads instead of a plod in the Peaks in a strong breeze, worked out the route in advance, but using a b&w print and the phone ain't satisfactory, couldn't thumb the map, and the Open O map leaves a lot to be guessed at, two 30secs dithers due to the above, so pace would have been bang on 5mins p/km

first control registered 10m after the control site, second control 30+m before (confusing), didn't help concentration and missed a slightly overgrown path, had to grit my teeth to keep the pace up around the back of the course
