out with Paul, longest run for quite some time, moderate pace, as usual Paul got stronger after 50mins or so

Monday Aug 29, 2016 #

6 PM

running 1:32:57 [3] 14.39 km (6:28 / km) +270m 5:54 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 190

Stanton Spirals (starting in Birchover)
introduced the Monday Nighters to the concept of staying where the going's good and running around and around, felt good, right calf complained a bit

Saturday Aug 27, 2016 #

5 PM

running 38:34 [3] 7.02 km (5:30 / km) +120m 5:04 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

Oker Loop
nice and steady but oh so slow, I'm sure I've run sub-35 on this loop, 3.5mins faster than today, hmph! no painkillers, slight discomfort from the toe, raining

Wednesday Aug 24, 2016 #

6 PM

running 1:33:51 [3] 14.05 km (6:41 / km) +310m 6:01 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

Millstone Edge, Carl Wark, Ox Stones, Higger, Padley Gorge
run from the 'Icecream van' stop at Longshaw with Paul, slow, he's also out of condiition after injury, no ibruprofen, felt the toe, hurt a bit descending through the rocks at Higger

toe aggravated afterwards so keeping injured box ticked for now

Monday Aug 22, 2016 #

6 PM

running 1:25:38 [2] 13.05 km (6:34 / km) +250m 5:59 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov8 Race Ultra 290

Youlgreave, back of Bradford Dale, Lathkill Dale
ibuprofen, barely noticed the toe, but did notice the humidity and shortness of breath, good up the first hill, but not the next and struggle from there (<30mins) despite the modest pace

Sunday Aug 21, 2016 #

6 PM

running 37:49 [3] 7.0 km (5:24 / km) +110m 5:01 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

Oker Loop
another ibuprofen run, toe felt uncomfortable but not painful, started at tempo pace as I want to keep sharp, quick time to the summit - although I didn't feel great and almost did the short loop - slow for the rest

Saturday Aug 20, 2016 #

Note
(injured)

toe painful these past few days, specifically around the base, aching

Wednesday Aug 17, 2016 #

7 PM

running 58:19 [3] 10.71 km (5:27 / km) +180m 5:01 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

White Edge
perfect conditions, warm, still, quiet, but I was slow - have I gained few kilos over the last two weeks? - turned around above White Lodge to make sure I finished around sunset, again could feel the toe despite downing a painkiller

"ice after" - as someone once wrote

Monday Aug 15, 2016 #

7 PM

running 56:33 [3] 10.59 km (5:20 / km) +140m 5:01 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 190

Stanton Spirals
some improvement today regarding the toe and the weather was too good, so downed an ibuprofen max and did three random loops of Stanton, nice and steady, probably should've been a bit quicker given the effort, felt low level pain occasionally despite the painkiller

Sunday Aug 14, 2016 #

Note
(injured)

So, erm, last four days, toe has become more painful, the swelling more localised, I like to think of this as healing, pretty sure it has been both broken and sprained, poor little toe

Core Conditioning 15:00 [0]
(injured)

KV's core-conditioning and hip stretches: ITB bands tighter than usual, but that doesn't surprise me, on last night's run the heaviness in the legs felt more like a lack of fluidity in the hips and along the side of the quads

Monday Aug 8, 2016 #

6 PM

running 1:34:51 [2] 13.81 km (6:52 / km) +260m 6:17 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov8 Race Ultra 290

Matlock Bank, Tansley, Bottom Moor. Farley Moor
I chose the ibuprofen option, went okay, pain was 'discomfort' only, but legs got quite heavy after 6km (with most of the climb done), plenty of energy after the lay off

Sunday Aug 7, 2016 #

Note
(injured)

the little toe is still very sore - a sprain and small contusion above the joint - painful walking downhill, but not enough to prevent a running action (I think), so, here's the dilemma: do I swallow a couple of nurofen and go for a run (tomorrow) or do I wait until there's no pain at all (maybe get on the bike in the gym instead)? will running set back the healing process?

Note
(injured)

stroll to 'the Meadow', painful downhill, when the foot presses into the toe end of the shoe

Wednesday Aug 3, 2016 #

Note
(injured)

played a bit of cricket in the park, didn't enjoy fielding, painful when running, toe still swollen, reckon this week might be a right off for training

Note
(injured)

cracked my toe against the corner of the sofa: badly bruised - not sure how long it will take to heal, but tonight's run (in the rain) and probably tomorrow are ruled out
