Orienteering race 1:04:11 [3] ** 7.9 km (8:07 / km) +270m 6:56 / km

Blean Woods
Good to get a map and a compass in my hand again. Woods weren't too bad, but the course wasn't consistently TD5, nothing like: five controls on path junctions ?!?

lost most of my time through lack of pace (i.e. walking), about halfway round I started to consider where I might permit myself to walk

Friday Oct 28, 2011 #

2 PM

running 28:16 [3] 5.38 km (5:15 / km) +110m 4:46 / km

Norwood Grove
half as long as I had planned, but didn't get out after 2pm and hunger had set in, felt weak, and laboured towards the end of the second loop

either an O-event or a 10km run this weekend

Sunday Oct 23, 2011 #

5 PM

running 38:51 [3] 7.45 km (5:13 / km) +185m 4:38 / km

Norwood Grove - Streatham Common
lift to both Rowney Warren and Hodgemoor fell through, so back out onto the common I went

repeated the first loop, but then had to miss out the little excursion around the gardens (they'd already been locked up), so only 1.5km longer than previous outings, same pace

need to get out for a long one next weekend ...

Saturday Oct 22, 2011 #

5 PM

running 30:58 [3] 6.0 km (5:10 / km) +110m 4:44 / km

Norwood Grove - Streatham Common
thought I might as well run the same loop as last time, didn't want to do too much as I'm hoping to get to an event tomorrow

felt good at the start, in fact, most of the way around

should do some hill intervals around here

Note
(rest day)

If this were a record of the exercise I was getting, instead of being empty, these past three weeks would be full. I was cycling at least 4-5km a day in Copenhagen, and have been walking briskly for at least 3-4km a day while in London

but I wouldn't call that training ...

Saturday Oct 15, 2011 #

9 AM

running 32:27 [3] 6.12 km (5:18 / km) +100m 4:54 / km

Streatham Common
finally, back in the game on a beautiful morning in South London

this was a bit of pipe-opener: the legs were okay, but the old breathing apparatus was phlegmified, lined with the remains of the cold ...

Wednesday Oct 12, 2011 #

Note
(rest day)

Over the cold now, but doing a lot of walking during the day - between Waterloo and Leicester Square - and coming home heavy-legged and hungry. Poor excuse.

Sunday Oct 9, 2011 #

Note
(sick)

Agh, an empty seven days! (truth is I've cycled for around 5km on five of those)

Almost over the cold, but a little jog to the supermarket told me I wasn't quite ready - didn't want to risk feeling drained for my last evening in Copenhagen.

Saturday Oct 8, 2011 #

Note
(sick)

Improvement. Whether it will be quick enough to let me get out tomorrow, I'm not sure.

Friday Oct 7, 2011 #

Note
(sick)

And on and on ... I'm wondering if I'll get out at all in Copenhagen. :(

Thursday Oct 6, 2011 #

Note
(sick)

And so it goes on ...

Wednesday Oct 5, 2011 #

Note
(sick)

Oh, yes, now this really is a cold ... pity, 'cause the weather's still pretty good.

Tuesday Oct 4, 2011 #

Note
(sick)

Tired, sleepy, sore throat. Perhaps the run the morning after the 'last night' wasn't such a good idea.

Sunday Oct 2, 2011 #

8 AM

running 34:35 [3] 6.68 km (5:11 / km) +50m 4:59 / km

Pipstorn Skov [Faaborg]
did well to get out after a (relatively) heavy night, laboured, of course, then went for a dip in the sea
