I'd forgotten to ask the control collectors to gather in the tapes for the White course so I got permission for a run up there collect them, good excuse, turns out tapes had been removed, good form up the hill from Rowsley, easier without the weight of the small backpack, took in plenty of terrain across the top

rough night on Friday and would rather have curled up in bed than drive 2.5 hours south, felt fine by the time I got there, but almost a wasted journey when headlamp got knocked out on way to #2, loose cable problem, my spare was only half-charged and I relatively weak, the main lamp started to work again coming out of the control but pfaff lost me around 2mins in total, fortunately it didn't cost a place, running quite well through the last third

2nd (M50), 7mins behind Duncan, 10mins behind Megan and the M18s

SYO Night Event, Burbage Mines
great fun and rare opportunity to practice night-O, big scale and complexity made it training exercise, took five minutes to get to grips with scale and contours, all those five were on the first control, after that quite steady, careless on easy leg, eyes watered up early on and definitely needed compass magnifier

planned a short terrain run on Harland Edge or Harewood Moor but forgot my GPS watch and Runkeeper decided it needed to up-date, headed home, but stopped off at Farley to have a trot around there instead, check on the forestry work

they've made extraction lanes in someplaces, where the plantation is not fully mature, what is the purpose of these?

Poulter Country Park
was planning to do the 15km loop through East moor, but was more tired than I should have been after yesterday's run, but the car needed a run out so I drove to one of our old old areas (a spoil heap plantation) to have a look at how it was developing. The wood is mostly slow run or a passable walk.

Anyway, run was slow, but probably worth doing.
