Orienteering race 38:56 [3] *** 5.1 km (7:38 / km)
spiked:10/11c
The Halikko-relay closed this season ended much as it has been going on - if it has at all. I counted that I have done two relays, two national competitions, three corporate league races (of which one relay) and a few training events. All have followed the same formula - navigation good but running terrible. I am extremely satisfied with the Halikko and Jukola-relays were I managed to pull a maximum performance, given my current form and despite the surrounding buzz. The season comprised only one complete disaster, the club night-o champs.
Back to the race, I hesitated for 10-15 sec and almost passed the first post in a green slope but managed to keep focused and found the flag. After that navigation was in control and running was slooow. With 39 min I was the fastest in my club on the leg - for which I'm happy - I was 7 min behind the best - which is OK - but 15 sec behind a Mr Jagge - which is a complete disaster ;-) I will just have to gather strength for the next season.
For next season I've decided to go for the 43-relay, which means that I will carry the responsibilities as team leader, activator and motivator, travel agent, coach and - on the light side - runner.
