Heh. Got cocky after crushing the orange yesterday and got cartoonishly lost on the green. i think my fifth split was 20 minutes. the fourth control was really tucked away and i sailed right past that. twice, in a row, i shot a bearing like i was at the next control, and the results both times were, predictably, bad. control 10 was in a barren wasteland, and was a hoot to track down. tried some pace counting, and that helped. definitely noticed tracks left by previous people on some obvious and some not-so-obvious lines. found a tick at the end, good times.

On top of that, I didn't start the watch until the well after the fourth control, and did a horrible job splitting laps. go ben!

Little bit of some square peg/round hole action getting the quickroute to line up. we'll just fix that up in post

NEOC event at Estabrook Woods in Concord. Running the orange. Since it was shorter (good) and had more controls (great!), I chose orange after mangling the green at the fells two weekends back. Had a blast, crushed it by ben-standards, but should've done green. Didn't derive too much benefit from the pre-orange-walk-the-yellow-with-the-girlfriend lap. Bugs weren't a problem on the move

boulder boulder boulder. got a 3, i think. buncha 2's as well. the rogues still crush my feet. might be time to score some trad shoes, the loafers of climbing. re-upped my membership, hopefully attackpoint will help me figure out if it's money well spent
