Trekking (Trail) 35:00 [1] 3.0 km (11:40 / km)

Hike with 'Bent's family and dogs to Old Baldy lookout. The rocky trail had become super wet, muddy and slippery since we test-hiked it two weeks ago. We'd thought it would be fine for a fit 84-year-old but it was like a mucky adventure race. The view across the Beaver Valley was spectacular though!

Trekking (Trail) 45:00 [1] 4.0 km (11:15 / km)

Hike with 'Bent's Mom, sister and brother-in-law, the pooches and 'Bent. I logged an appropriate time for the distance but we were out there longer.

We were lucky with the weather. We had lots of rain and threatening clouds all weekend - although the autumn leaves still looked amazing.

Note

Super busy day getting the chalet ready for our first overnight guests there - 'Bent's family.

Running (Country Road) 35:27 [3] 5.01 km (7:05 / km) +76m 6:35 / km
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 5 Red

It's been driving me crazy not running! The heel drops prescribed by the sports medicine doc have improved my Achilles some. My foot seems to hurt a little even if I just hike so I took a chance and went for a short run today to see if it was any different. So far, so good.

Paddling (Canoe) 1:14:05 [2] 5.76 km (4.7 kph) +10m

After a final breakfast with my brother Dave and partner Tim, we went for a windy canoe paddle up the river from Little Joe Lake toward Lost Joe Lake then we walked the portage to Baby Joe Lake. The big lake was on the verge of whitecaps when we paddled back to the lodge.

Our wedding reception was held in this log dining room built in the 1930s.
