Nice run up Switchback and over to Loree with Dee and Mrs. Gally. Beautiful day and so nice to spend time with good friends. Lots of mud - I slipped on a sidehill, thus ensuring that the mud coated my entire body evenly.

'Bent, Tarno and Rydlo were running at Pretty River so I caught a ride over there. Jackie Tarno and I ran the first 5K together - up to the Bruce Trail high point, then along the clifftops on the main Bruce Trail. She headed back down and I continued north to our place in Collingwood. There was a LOT of watery mud so it was slow and slippery, especially on technical terrain and rocky downhills. There was also a surprising amount of ice on the technical trails in Petun Conservation Area - and the snow hasn't melted at Blue Mountain yet. But I needed an adventure today.

Afterward, we stopped by VO2 Sports, our friend Sean Bechtel's new store (with his brother Mark). They're bringing in high end gear and services for swimming, biking and running, and they're starting a training club along the same lines as C3.

Over to Palgrave East and around. The double track is really muddy in a few places but conditions were mostly soft but good. The buds are *just* thinking about opening. We'll have leaves this weekend.

I've barely been training over the last while. I'd planned an ideal 6-month training and racing schedule leading up to CCC at UTMB but higher priorities arose. Now I'm going to try to do it with a 4-month plan. I can't do CCC as my first ultra since Feb. 2018 so I've just signed up for the Québec Megatrail 50 miler on Canada Day weekend. 'Bent will do the 50K. So now I need to run, run, run.

Tonight was the Orienteering Ontario AGM in Toronto. Before that, most of us went to the opening night of the Toronto Orienteering Club Summer Parks Series. Tonight we were in High Park where I'd never orienteered before.

It was pouring rain and chilly when I arrived but the rain stopped soon after. It felt so good to run on the beautiful trails. There was a great atmosphere with lots of runners on the park roads doing various drills. I have an unreasonable fear of Toronto so I'd probably never run here alone if I lived nearby but somehow I managed to survive an orienteering training session - even if I *did* end up waist deep in cold water twice. And technically, I'm not sure you could call it orienteering because my powers of concentration were pretty much nil. But it was a baby step.
